We were approached by Tim Brooks of Muzeable , a UK-based strategy and growth consultancy. Their client, a leading fruit and vegetable importer, wanted to understand customers perceptions around pre-packed versus loose fruit and vegetables
This project demanded a very quick turnaround: 1 week from brief to delivery of tables and charts. We delivered to the demands of these deadlines with our usual accuracy and attention to detail.
The clients initially only wanted to find out one thing about purchase intent. We could have simply asked respondents this one question, but we suggested that once you have attracted people’s attention, you have a fantastic opportunity to dig deeper and provide a richer analysis. In a 7 minute online survey, using visual, paired comparisons, we helped Tim build a vivid picture for the client of buying habits and attitudes. We also collected open responses, using gamification techniques to enrich the picture further. The extra information collected and the fuller picture of consumption and purchase habits allowed us to answer the core question but cut it in dozens of insightful ways.
We used some sophisticated choice analysis. Participants were asked to select one of three options as their preferred buying choice, both at the start and end of the survey, in a perfectly balanced and randomised methodology. We then asked a final question which asked assessed whether taking part in the study meant that they wanted to change their final answer.
