Julia started in the market research industry in the late 1980s with Research by Telephone. After two years at Quantime, she moved on to work at Gordon Simmons Research (which became ORC International) where she first worked with Steve. After GSR/ORC she then went on to work at both Digitab and Taylor Nelson Sofres.
Julia has worked on a wide range of projects over her years in research including consumer, business-to-business and medical studies, using a broad spectrum of data collection and analysis packages including Merlin, Quantum and QPS. Data analysis is her main specialism with particular experience in managing complex tracking studies.
Julia has also spent several years outside the industry working as a consultant in academic research with particular interest in research methodologies, experimental research and the philosophical context for research. She has also run a number of micro businesses. Away from work, Julia has trained as an artist and has exhibited work internationally. This has led to a creative perspective on the research process, an enthusiasm to experiment, and an ability to see the bigger picture into which data analysis fits.
